Second edition, partly original, very rare. J. Delgado known as Pepe Hillo died in the Madrid arena on May 11, 1801 at the age of 47. In 1815, Goya represented the first moment of Pepe Hillo's "cogida" before the bull lifted him up and threw him into the air. This copy is said to have belonged (handwritten notes in pencil) to the great Madrid bookseller Montero, who practised in the 20th century. Brunet II, 574: "In spite of his extraordinary skill in this kind of fight, the author died from his fierce antagonist in one of those terrible fights he liked to engage in".
