Original edition, decorated with a general map of Spain, a plan of Madrid and 10 folding plates, two of which are large containing 12 figures of bullfighting scenes, reduced copies of the oblong in-4 plates by Antonio Carnicero. This is one of the best surviving records of Spain at the end of the 18th century. Headpieces of the first volume restored, minor snag to another in volume II. Pertus p. 85. Most of the copies of this first edition bear the date of 1788, the others have had their title pages changed with the date of 1789. The author held political office in Spain before the French Revolution, and in this work we find descriptions of bull fights, Palau, 34055.
