STEEVE IUNCKER 1969 - Lot 66
STEEVE IUNCKER 1969 Yakutsk, -48°, from the series "The coldest city in the world". Photography. Semi-matt color print on Fuji paper, made in 2008, dry stamp under the image, stamped, signed, dated and numbered 1/10 in ink on the back. Slight handling mark. Image : 24 x 24 cm ; Sheet : 30 x 40 cm. Steeve Iuncker (Switzerland, born in 1969), in parallel to the reports and portraits made in the context of current events in French-speaking Switzerland, carries out personal projects that question the violence intrinsic to all human and social life, as well as the way in which photography can, by approaching taboos, question the normalized conventions of representation. In 2016, the Musée de l'Élysée (Lausanne) is exhibiting "Se Mettre au Monde", a series in which it questions the new forms of initiation rites of contemporary adolescence. The prints presented here are part of his "Extreme Cities" series, which in 2014 received the Photo Prize of the National Museum of Natural History.
