DAVID SAUVEUR 1974 - Lot 101
DAVID SAUVEUR 1974 Jerusalem, 2000. Photography. Pigmentary print of the period, signed in ink by the author on the back. Image: 25.7 x 25 cm; sheet: 42 x 29.8 cm. David Sauveur (French, born 1974) has often carried out two projects, two explorations in parallel: documentary research - particularly in Palestine - and plastic research around landscape photography. Both projects intersect in that they question the possible in photography, the limits of the conventions of representation. This jostling is often worked on through the use of Polaroid; it draws all the softness of colour from it, but also plays on the distance it implies. David Sauveur has received numerous "Attention Talent" awards from the FNAC in 2000, the prize of the International Festival "Biarritz Terre d'Images" in 2001, and the Grand Prix of the International Festival of Scoop and Journalism of Angers in 2006.
