Ivory Okimono, two bijin in front of a stream, one standing holding a parasol, the other kneeling and cutting irises with a pair of scissors. Terrace in ivory. Signed Tomochika under the base. Japan, late Meiji period (1868-1912). H. 17 cm, width of the terrace 10,3 cm. Weight 295 grams. This okimono presents a rarely figured scene, and a very fine realization. (accidents and missing parts) Ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, specimen prior to July 1, 1947 and thus conforming to the 1947 and therefore in conformity with the EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 in its article 2-Wmc and prior to 1 July 1975 and therefore in conformity with the French decrees of 16 August 2016 and May 4, 2017.
