Framed.Image: 39 x 26.5 cm; frame: 60 x 50 cm "The principal chief of the Qagyuhl is shown in a "button blanket" (which is simply a wool blanket decorated with hundreds of large mother-of-pearl buttons), a cedar bark neck ring and a cedar bark headband. His right hand grasps a shaman's rattle, and on the left is the carved staff that, as a sort of emblem of office, a man always holds while making a speech.
