It linked Colomb-Béchar to Tananarive, through the Hoggar and Chad, in ten months (from October 1924 to June 1925). It was as much a colonial adventure, an automobile raid, as a scientific expedition. The mission, comprising 17 members, was directed by Georges-Marie Haardt with Louis Audouin Dubreuil as assistant. Among all the documents collected (botanical plates, sketch books, samples of mammals, birds and insects), more than 6000 photographs were taken throughout the expedition.
