Another print of one of these images is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (RP-F-F80015). In 1883, a new project for the construction of two dry docks was launched in the port of Rotterdam. These floating structures were 30 meters high and 90 and 45 meters wide respectively. They will make it easier to inspect and repair large ships, in a context of increasing global maritime traffic. Hameter photographed the installations from a panoramic angle and then added a typical Dutch cloudy sky.
