The rectangular base, decorated with a bas-relief on an amati background representing six architects, astronomers and sculptors, is surrounded by a frieze of water leaves. The enamelled dial with Roman numerals signed CHAMPION Rue Neuve des Petits Champs n° 21 in Paris (lease of watchmaker's store to André René Champion, at this address, on September 13, 1820). Attributed to the bronzier Pierre-Victor LEDURE (born in 1783, merchant-manufacturer of bronzes and clocks.
