KEYSTONE - HINDENBURG - Lot 22
KEYSTONE - HINDENBURG Explosion of the Zeppelin LZ 129 Hedinburg airship, Lakehurst, New Jersey, May 6, 1937. "The giant trans-Atlantic dirigible Hindenburg plunges to the field at the naval air station at Lakehurst. A flaming coffin for thirty-three members of its human cargo. These dramatic pictures, made as the airship ended its trans-Atlantic flight, and its career, give a graphic sequence of horror from the time the first burst of flame ripped the ship's stern to its final sinking to earth a hass of charred, twisted girders and smouldering embers. Photograph. Vintage silver print, stamps and label with typed caption. Image: 24 x 19,5 cm; sheet: 25,5 x 20,5 cm
