ALPHONSE LE BLONDEL 1814-1875 - Lot 49
ALPHONSE LE BLONDEL 1814-1875 Place du Théâtre, former Town Hall, Lille, 1869. Photograph. Albumen print mounted on card, stamped by the author under the image. Image: 35 x 24.5 cm; mount: 54 x 39.5 cm Active in Lille since 1842, Le Blondel knew and adapted to all photographic evolutions. Initially a practitioner of the daguerreotype, in color or not, he later turned to albumen before ending his career with a rich production of portrait-cards, which he sold in his various Lille studios. His studio lasted until 1892, almost 20 years after his death.
