Documentary and anti-Graphic Photographs. It was while sorting through the Henri Cartier-Bresson archives, gathered for the creation of the Foundation, that a modest white Bristol with strange eyes appeared, accompanied by the title: "Documentary and anti-graphic photographs". The names of the three artists forming the eyes were Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Walker Evans and Henri Cartier-Bresson. The date of the exhibition: April - May 1935, and the venue: Julien Lévy Gallery, New York. This discovery led to the reconstruction of the exhibition. This book brings together these prints for the first time since 1935, and presents the early work of three great masters of photography. Text in English and French. Published in 2004 by Steidl to coincide with the exhibition at the Fondation H. Cartier Bresson. The book is bound in new, original plastic film. Publisher: Steidl
