PICASSO Pablo (1881-1973) - Lot 130
PICASSO Pablo (1881-1973) Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) Leaning nude, 1966 A fantastic original etching (Aquatint) by the Master. Very rare! Printed on Vélin de Rives paper. Dimensions: + Sheet size: 48 x 38 cm / 18.8 x 14.9 in. Condition : In excellent condition. May show occasional handling creases or minor staining at edges. Image otherwise very clean, well inked. From the portfolio "Sable mouvant", illustrated with 10 aquatints by Pablo Picasso (please note that we are only selling this plate and NOT the complete art book). "Sable mouvant" is Pierre Reverdy's last poem, considered by the author himself to be his poetic legacy. It was published posthumously as an in-folio, as a tribute from Pablo Picasso to his late friend. The art book was published by Louis Broder in 1966, in Paris. The aquatints were engraved by Pablo Picasso himself and printed by the Crommelynck workshop. All the engraving plates were scratched after printing, making a modern reprint impossible. Reference in Cramer #136; Bloch #1183-92; Baer #1152-61. A rare and magnificent edition of Pablo Picasso! A COPY of the justification page, numbered 193/255 and signed by Pablo Picasso, can be supplied on request. The print itself is neither signed nor numbered. Please note that the justification is printed on a separate sheet, NOT on the back of the plate you purchase.
