GRASSET Eugène (1845-1917) Eugène Grasset (1845-1917) "The Seasons calendar Belle Jardinière, 1904 Calendar for 1904 with the 4 seasons (4 lithographs on glossy paper) Last calendar produced by Eugène GRASSET for "La Belle Jardinière" department stores. Composed of 4 bound sheets, one for each season. Dimensions: +Sheet size: 43 x 28.5 cm / 16.9 x 11.2 in. +Image size: 38 x 24.5 cm / 15 x 9.6 in. Condition : In good overall condition, with a few handling creases, a few small stains and a few small tears at the edges. Some noticeable brittle folds in the corners, and a missing section in the lower right-hand corner of "Autumn" (see photos). The images are otherwise very beautiful, with bright, vivid colors. Printed by G. de Malherbe. In 1896, Grasset produced a calendar for the clothing store La Belle Jardinière, whose original watercolors he exhibited at the Salon de la Société nationale des beaux-arts. The artist had already illustrated a commercial calendar for the Au Bon Marché store in 1886, and repeated the exercise in 1904 for La Belle Jardinière with a calendar known as the Seasons.
