Citadelles & Mazenod [ed.] - Le Trait 68 & L'Argent dans la peinture - 2018-2020 Le trait 68: Insubordination graphique et contestations politiques 1966-1973 (2018) Focusing on the study of slogans, images and graphics, this book examines the graphic insubordination of the '68s. From the perspective of collective mobilization and the international circulation of ideas, a veritable visual regime took shape during this period. Influenced by Third Worldism, pacifism, Guevarism and Maoism, new codes of expression were defined, in new places (streets, palisades, factories, universities, barricades), by recurring motifs (the raised fist, the factory, broken chains, sheep, De Gaulle), but also through targeted terminology (la chienlit, la lutte, les pavés, la beauté). From posters by the Ateliers populaires des Beaux-arts to photographs by Gilles Caron, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Bruno Barbey, and drawings by Siné, Willem, Topor and Crumb... not forgetting French and international artists' collectives, this fascinating study provides a better understanding of the images of this unmissable "68 moment". Money in painting (2020) Bills, coins, bills of exchange, credit cards, stock market shares, bullion, whether painted in marble, porcelain, gilded wood, steel or floating in an aquarium: the representation of money is omnipresent in works of art. This book looks at the long term, from the resurgence of metallic money at the end of the Middle Ages to the present day, considering the West - Europe first, then America when it was conquered and modernized, and converted to cash. During these centuries, the demographic, economic, social, technological and fiduciary situation changed: painting was modified according to styles, and its very place in creation was no longer the same: today it is no longer the dominant medium, and from then on installations, photography and the moving image - cinema or video - are examined, as well as the point of view of women artists. beautiful ensemble Citadelles & Mazenod 2018-2020
