Henri Héran (1864-1946) Fleur de Mai, 1897 Lithograph on wove paper. Signed in the plate in the lower right margin. The Estampe Moderne dry stamp is affixed in the lower right-hand corner. Dimensions: +Sheet size: approx. 40.5 x 30.5 cm / 15.9 x 12 in. +Image size: 33 x 23 cm / 12.9 x 9 in. Condition: In good condition, with light handling creases, minor stains in the margins and a few creases in the corners. A small loss in the upper left corner. Watermark at bottom of sheet and slight vertical mark in right margin. Small tears in bottom and right margins. Very clean image with vivid colors. Unframed. Published by Masson & Piazza, Paris. Like the Maitre de l'Affiche series, L'Estampe Moderne is a portfolio printed between 1897 and 1898, published by Imprimerie Champenois, Paris. It contains 24 monthly portfolios, each with four original lithographs. Each was commissioned exclusively for this series. In addition to Mucha, artists such as Rhead, Meunier, Ibels, Steinlen, Willette and Grasset contributed.
