"A quarter of a million pounds goes to her head.... Princess Margaret and her husband Lord Snowdon, as well as all those attending the charity ball at London's Savoy Hotel, held their breaths as this model presented this headdress from the collection of crown jeweller Garrard, estimated at almost 250,000 F. There are 70 pieces of jewelry, including 49 brooches, 2 necklaces, 10 pairs of earrings and 2 bracelets. The most interesting piece is the uncut diamond in the center, weighing 167 carats and worth 20,000 F, but whose value will double when cut. A "hat" worth 250,000 pounds...", 1963.
