ALGERIA - POTER - Lot 42
ALGERIA - POTER
Marabout at the Bois Sacré in Blida; Algiers: panoramic view of the port, view of the Mustapha district, ca.1880.
Photographs. 3 albumin prints mounted on cardboard.
Images: 18.4 x 24.7 cm; mounts: 30 x 40 cm
Initially associated with Charles Klary, Poter succeeded him and took over his studio at 7 rue Bruce in Algiers. The medium-format prints of the landscapes presented here are unusual, and contrast with his more prolific production of cartes-de-visite.
