KEYSTONE - FIRE - Lot 166
KEYSTONE - FIRE "Between two extremes. With the thermometer at fifteen below zero Chicago firemen fought an appartment building blaze through the night hours when it seemed that shrinking life could no longer endure the cold. Dawn found them still fighting the flames, encrusted in ice and their apparatus frozen in to the hubs", February 9, 1933. Photograph. Vintage silver print, stamp and label with handwritten caption on back. Stain at bottom. Image: 20.5 x 15.3 cm; sheet: 21.5 x 16.4 cm
