ANDRÉ KERTESZ 1894-1985 "Lectures"; éditions du Chêne, 1971; 64 pages. Paperback; first French edition; fine photogravure reproduction of the photographs; the son of a bookseller and a lover of literature, André Kertész built up, over the years, his own little illustrated encyclopedia of reading; this activity was so important to him that, in 1971, the photographer published a small work entitled "On Reading" (in New York, by Grossman, and in France under the title "Lectures", by Editions du Chêne), containing sixty images on reading, with no accompanying text; It surprises readers of all ages, from the twilight of life, like the reader sitting in a bed at the Beaune hospice in 1929, through adulthood and childhood; it also surprises readers in all situations, in libraries of course, but also in the street or in nature. In-8 (20 x 15 cm). Very good condition.
