BOATS - KEYSTONE - Lot 276

BOATS - KEYSTONE "These ladies wear the pants. A yacht crewed entirely by women. From the cabin boy to the captain, all the "men" in this beautiful yacht's crew are Broadway girls. The "captain" is even the famous performer Rita Roycé, so well known in the movies. At fifteen, these courageous young people are going to come all the way to Europe on a boat specially installed for them, and driven by them. They are not afraid of the hard work on board, nor of the perilous maneuvers in the "ropes", and to keep themselves in good shape, they indulge in well-ordered physical excercises. The crew exercise to keep fit", ca. 1930. Photograph. Vintage silver print, stamped and labeled with typed caption on back. Small loss at top margin. Image: 13.5 x 18.9 cm; sheet: 15 x 20 cm
