Print taken from the portfolio *Hommage à Arthur Köpcke*, published in 1979 by Den Danske Radeerforening af 1853, Copenhagen, in memory of Fluxus pioneer Arthur “Addi” Köpcke (1928–1977); copies are held at the Harvard Art Museums, the mumok in Vienna, and the Broad in Los Angeles—this same print by Kirkeby is also part of the Harvard collection. Kirkeby, the greatest Danish painter of the late twentieth century, began his career in the Fluxus circle centered around Köpcke before achieving international renown; his print is the only intaglio in the entire portfolio.
