A seated female nude, viewed from the front with legs apart, is enveloped by the arms of an octopus whose head rises above her on a gradient-shaded black cloud; a low rocky shore frames the bottom of the print. The composition is defined by an unbroken drypoint outline, with aquatint reserved solely for the dark mass at the top. The motif of the octopus and the nude is part of the aquatic bestiary developed by Trémois beginning in the early 1970s.
