Villon transposes Modigliani’s *La Bohémienne*, painted in 1917, into an aquatint: a woman seated in a white blouse with a red collar holds a child swaddled in blue across her lap; her elongated face and almond-shaped eyes are rendered through layered backgrounds of ochre, verdigris, and brick red. This print comes from the Chalcographie du Louvre, which holds the copper plate and produces unsigned reprints from it; it differs from the signed edition of 200 copies published by Bernheim-Jeune in 1927–28.
