Description: A hard-edge geometric composition created specifically for the Stedelijk Museum’s iconic portfolio designed by Wim Crouwel and printed by Total Design, Amsterdam. Bob Bonies is the leading Dutch representative of concrete art, whose monochromatic planes of pure color and elementary forms have defined the face of geometric abstraction in the Netherlands since the 1960s; his participation in “Vormen van de kleur,” alongside the international avant-garde, marked his decisive breakthrough. The portfolio brought together original silkscreen prints by Kelly, Bonies, Pfahler, and Turnbull, alongside a survey of contemporary abstraction (Albers, Newman, Stella, Judd, Vasarely, Noland, and others).
