Plate from *L'Estampe Moderne*, the famous subscription publication that appeared monthly in Paris from May 1897 to April 1899 under the direction of Ch. Masson and H. Piazza and printed by Imprimerie Champenois, with each issue featuring four original lithographs commissioned specifically for the magazine, accompanied by a captioned plate. Bouisset remains famous for his 1893 Menier Chocolate poster, depicting a little girl writing the brand name in chalk on a wall; childhood was his favorite subject, and this little flower girl is in the same vein.
